Enough with fast fashion!
We demand an immediate stop to the overproduction and consumption of low-cost, low-quality clothing. Fast fashion is a plague that poisons our planet and exploits millions of workers.
Why Uncle Pietro says no to fast fashion:
- Devastating environmental impact: The textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world. The mass production of cheap garments consumes enormous amounts of water, pollutes aquifers, and releases tons of microplastics into the oceans.
- Worker exploitation: Behind every piece of fast fashion often lies the labor of underpaid and exploited people, forced to work in inhumane conditions.
- Waste of resources: The average lifespan of a garment is getting shorter and shorter, encouraging excessive consumption and waste of precious resources.
- Culture of waste: Fast fashion induces us to buy more and more, without considering the quality and durability of products.
What we can do:
- Buy less and better: We prefer quality garments, made with sustainable materials and produced ethically.
- Extend the life of our clothes: We repair, reuse, and donate the clothes we no longer use.
- Support ethical companies: We choose brands that respect the environment and workers' rights.
- Spread awareness: We talk to friends and family about the impact of fast fashion and invite them to make more conscious choices.
For all these reasons, we have decided to adopt a 'Just-in-Time' model, producing each garment only after it has been sold online. This approach allows us to minimize unsold items, reducing waste.
